Why we built this

Whatnot can't tell you what you actually made.

The native dashboard is for vibes. We do the bookkeeping math so you don't have to.

Their dashboard is estimates

Whatnot's own help docs say not to use the Analytics tab for taxes.

They don't know what you paid

Cost of inventory is your biggest deduction. Whatnot has no way to know what you spent.

Fees add up fast

Commission, processing, refunds, giveaway shipping. 11 to 15% per sale, easy.

Tax time is rough

A 1099-K shows up with gross sales. No deductions, no COGS. April panic ensues.

What you get

Two things Whatnot just can't show you.

True profit, every show

Type in what you paid for each item. Or split a lot purchase across a bunch of sales (1 hobby box, 6 cards, one click). We do the math on every sale.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to upload my CSV every week?+

We recommend it. Whatnot publishes a new Weekly Orders Report every Monday at 6am UTC. Upload weekly to keep your dashboard current and your retention numbers accurate. Our Monday morning email reminds you.

Does Whatnot allow this?+

Yes. Whatnot built the Weekly Orders Report so sellers could analyze their own sales. We use that official export. No scraping, no API tricks.

Do I have to enter cost for every item?+

Mostly yes. You can also start with values Whatnot already captured at listing time. Bulk-lot distribution speeds it up. One $300 hobby box gets split across the 6 cards in a click. eBay and Mercari purchase imports are coming in v1.1.

Is the Schedule C export an actual filed form?+

No. It's a CSV that maps every dollar to the right Schedule C line. You drop it into TurboTax or FreeTaxUSA, or hand it to your CPA. We're software, not preparers.

What if Whatnot changes the CSV format?+

We watch for it and patch within days. The schema has been stable since 2023. Verified against the May 2026 version: 36 columns.

Can I cancel any time?+

Yes. Cancel from the billing page. Your parsed data stays read-only for 30 days, then we delete it.

Do you support eBay or Mercari?+

Not yet. The architecture supports it from day one. eBay and Mercari ship in v2, target Q3 2026.
